City water treatment, built for the DFW supply.

If your water comes from the city rather than a well, this is the treatment path. It is the most common setup we install across the Metro.

Four Streams Water Solutions city water treatment system installed in a utility room

Most Dallas-Fort Worth homes are on municipal water, and municipal water arrives with a known profile. It has been treated to federal safety standards before it reaches you. It is also hard, because the supply comes primarily from surface reservoirs, and it carries chloramine as a disinfectant residual. Treatment for a city home is about addressing those two things, plus the drinking water at the kitchen tap.

What city water treatment covers

  • Carbon filtration first, addressing the disinfectant chemistry and the taste and odor that come with it.
  • Softening next, taking out the hardness so scale stops accumulating in pipes, fixtures, and appliances.
  • Reverse osmosis at the kitchen sink, on its own faucet, for drinking, cooking, and coffee.

In our flagship bundle the first two live in a single tank off your main line, with the brine tank beside it, and the RO unit goes under the kitchen sink.

How this differs from well water

A well home is a different job. Wells bring their own profile, often including iron and sulfur, and there is no utility treating the water before it reaches the house. That needs different equipment and it is priced differently. If you are on a private well, the well water treatment page is the right place to start.

Where it goes

The whole-home portion installs off your main water line, usually a utility room or garage job. The RO unit installs under the kitchen sink with a dedicated faucet next to your existing one. If your home has a tougher setup, we tell you the adjusted price before any work starts, never after.

What it costs

The flagship bundle for a standard city-water home is about $2,999 installed, taxes included. If your home needs something other than the standard configuration, you get the all-in number on your assessment call before anything is scheduled. Flexible financing is available, no credit check.

Where to start

The assessment comes first. You give us your address, we pull the public data on your municipal supply, and we send back a report on what is actually in your water. There is no in-home visit attached to it and no obligation.
